March 2025 holidays: mandatory breaks

The Federal Labor Law reveals which mandatory rest days workers must have, and shares what compensation they must receive in case of working.

The third month of 2025 is about to begin, and if you are wondering what are the mandatory days of rest that arrive in March , you should know that the Federal Labor Law is very clear about what are the holidays for workers, and what compensation they should have in case they must work.

While it is true, the calendar of the Ministry of Public Education stipulates that there are three bridges or three days of rest in masto, however, this only applies to basic level students, since it must be remembered that the Federal Labor Law has a different calendar , indicating that in the third month of 2025 there is only one holiday stipulated for workers.

The information shared by the LFT indicates that March 17 is considered a mandatory day of rest in Mexico, that is, the third Monday of the following month .

It should be remembered that this bridge , or holiday , will be due to the birth of Benito Juárez, which is remembered every March 21 , a date that is decided to move to Monday so that workers can enjoy a long bridge , that is, a longer rest .

How much should I be paid if I work on March 17 ?

Although it is true that March 17 is considered a holiday by the Federal Labor Law , there are some jobs that must be done daily regardless of whether it is a holiday or not, and in this case this law stipulates that the worker must be compensated.

According to article 75 of the LFT, if a worker works on a mandatory day of rest , the employer must pay an additional amount to the usual daily salary .

In this case, the LFT indicates that the worker must receive two more salaries than usual, that is, it indicates that the employee can receive up to three times his daily salary for work on March 17 .
