During the inauguration of the Expo Agro 2025 in this city , the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Julio Berdegué Sacristán, urged white corn producers to register in the comprehensive coverage program that has a guaranteed price for their grain of six thousand 230 pesos per ton.
He commented that a coverage program has been designed for two million tons of white corn, which covers practically one hundred percent of the harvest that is estimated to be harvested in this state.
After touring the facilities in the Produce Sinaloa Foundation area, the federal official said that the contracting of coverage will allow farmers to enter into sales contracts early, with a guarantee that they will receive six thousand 230 pesos per ton for their harvested grain.
In his speech, Berdegué Sacristán praised the farmers for their determination and tenacity to make the land productive and contribute to the national food program, which is why this year, they are trying to impose an efficient marketing scheme for the crops grown in the country.
During the inaugural event, the state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya , in the presence of the deputy director of Operations of FIRA, Pedro Diaz Gerónimo, requested that this agency in charge of financing the field, grant the same preferential interest rate that applies to producers of 5 hectares to those who produce 10.
In his speech, the state executive proposed that when the bean harvest begins , the first 20 thousand tons that have a guaranteed price be purchased early, in order to take pressure off the marketing markets.

He said that, just like last year, his government will cover the cost of storing beans for three months, so that farmers do not waste their grain and wait for better prices for its sale.
In his message, Rocha Moya called on farmers to rationalize the use of water for agricultural irrigation, in order to avoid waste and regulate its distribution, in view of the water crisis that is being suffered this season, in which the reservoirs only have a reserve equivalent to 14 percent of their capacity.
